Fly By Night and Big Tree Artists are proud to announce one of Australia’s finest up and coming hip hop artists L-FRESH The LION, with Mirrah and MK-1, returning to Perth in January 2015 to play Prince of Wales Bunbury, Settler’s Tavern Margaret River and the Fly By Night Musicians Club in Fremantle.
L-FRESH The LION is renowned for his powerful stage presence, inspiring live shows and for having some of the most intelligent lyrics in Australian hip hop. His sound is uplifting and universally accessible, inspired by the conscious, soulful Hip Hop movement in the U.S in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
2014 has been a huge year for L-FRESH The LION, his debut album ‘One’ (released in May along with a national headline tour) received stellar reviews. His single ‘Survive’ (feat MK-1) became a staple on national broadcaster Triple J, and his Like A Version cover of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air has been one of the year’s best received.
Recently nominated for Best Live Hip Hop Act by the AU Review and featured this month in Rolling Stone Magazine. Also an ambassador for All Together Now, Australia’s only national charity that exists solely to address racism, L-FRESH The LION is one to watch in the future.
Supported by Perth artist Marksman LLoyd, quickly making a name for himself in the local hip hop scene with his single ‘Rewrite the Ending’ recently receiving airplay on Triple J. Joined by locals Selekt Few who release their album ‘MD’ last year.
